The rig changes with the load
A loaded car-hauling trailer can have a different overall height than the same trailer when empty. Terrapin lets you save your truck and trailer separately and update the trailer’s dimensions and weight as your load changes.
What to enter

Terrapin uses the greater height and combines the component lengths, weights, and axle counts. Confirm your rig’s actual overall dimensions, especially where the truck and trailer overlap or cargo extends beyond the trailer. Update the profile whenever your load changes.
Auction and dealer trips
- Search for auction yards and dealerships by business name, with nearby matches shown first.
- Find fuel stations and hotels along your route, and set your preferred maximum detour distance.
- Use voice search to look for stops without typing while driving.
Permits: Terrapin does not replace oversize or overweight permits, required escorts, or approved permit routes. Always follow the conditions of your permits. We’re exploring support for importing permit routes. Let us know if that feature would be useful.
