GPS for driveaway drivers

Every job is a different vehicle. Save a profile for each one, and Terrapin checks the route against that vehicle’s height.

Box trucks, semis, and RVs

Driveaway drivers move all three, often in the same week. Terrapin keeps a Garage with a tab for each kind of vehicle. Pick the one you’re moving before you plan the trip, and the low-clearance alerts, fuel stops, and parking along your route follow that vehicle.

Box trucks

Choose a preset for a popular rental truck, or add your own. Check the height against the truck’s door label before you drive.

Semis

Save the tractor and the trailer as two vehicles, then switch between them. Dry van trailer presets are included as starting points.

RVs

A motorhome is one vehicle, with an optional towed car. A towable RV is a tow vehicle plus an RV trailer. Class A, B, and C starting points are included.

Look up a vehicle by VIN

Enter a VIN and Terrapin fills in the year, make, model, weight rating, and fuel type from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s public database. A VIN never includes height, width, or length, so you still measure the height. The VIN is not stored.

Measure every vehicle. Terrapin checks the route for possible low bridges using the height you enter, and it does not yet route around height and weight restrictions. How to measure a vehicle’s height.
